A thousand square metres at a hundred and forty centimetres throughout, with four slides arriving at one end. It is the loudest and liveliest corner of the hotel for most of the afternoon, and the scale means there is still room to swim at the far end while they are running.
Three hundred and sixty square metres with nothing arranged around it. No slides, no games, no programme. It is the second largest pool on the property, which is the part guests do not expect. Quiet here does not mean a corner someone forgot about.
Two hundred and fifty square metres, and the only pool adjusted in both directions. Heated from the first of November to the thirtieth of April, and cooled in the hottest summer months. In August that is a more useful thing than it sounds at eleven in the morning.
Two of them, two hundred and ninety five and a hundred and thirty square metres, running past the rooms that open onto them. Both are heated through the winter months and cooled in high summer. Between May and October there is a drinks service to the room at set hours.
Twenty six square metres and forty centimetres deep, shallow enough to stand in at almost any age. It sits apart from the main pool rather than inside it, and it is heated from November to April with the others.
A hundred and ten square metres, open through the winter season and heated from the first of November to the thirtieth of April. It is the pool that makes a February stay work, and in high summer the coolest water on the property at two in the afternoon.
Hemera sits directly on the shore, on sand, with its own private platform running out into the sea. There is a section reserved for adults, which is where most couples end up by the second day. Sun loungers, cushions and beach towels are laid out through the day, and the Kumsal bar sits behind the sand. One practical note: parts of the sea bed are rocky, so sea shoes are worth packing.
